A new start for my blogs
A month has gone by without blogging, but luckily, not without yoga. We'll see how that phrase will be on my next entry (two months? a year?).
I've been on holidays enjoying the Christmas season, at the cottage, home and in Spain, and practicing whenever I've had a chance.
We spent a week in Barcelona and I visited the Yoga Studio there. Very nice and cozy place with nice people. I've practiced alone at the cottage, which is actually very comfortable since it's very warm on the upper floor towards noon with the downstairs fire-place going since 9 am, and no disturbances. I have even managed to practice at home, but that is always too difficult with the cat, kids and a million other things to do. Our mysore Teacher has been on vacation, too, so it's been self practice for couple of weeks: at the shala I have much less problems to practice alone, it's the correct set-up and with a chance, I have company, which makes the practice always easier. Had a flu also after Christmas, so there was a small break.
I don't know whether other yogis have the tendency to "cheat" when practicing alone, but for me the first weak sign of fatigue is easily the mark to stop there and move to the finishing asanas. Even if I know that I should just ignore it and go on. But I am getting better, enjoying more each asana, and continuing one by one. Sometimes I decide what to do (full primary only, my bit of intermediaty, too or less if I don't have the time or if recovering, just up to navasana), sometimes I decide that at 8.00 I'll move to finishing, and do whatever I manage to do until then. Sometimes I fool around, when the Teacher is not there.
So I've managed to practice about 3 times a week, which is fine for this period. I will go on like this, since I have a lot to do at work right now, and I promised to myself to take it easier on yoga when the going gets tough at work. I even appreciate the practice more when I don't do it every day.
